"Welcome to Peters Platters"
Welcome to the galleries of my woodturning.  I specialise in bowls, dishes and platters made from mostly English timber.  Most of the pieces shown have been sold and are therefore only examples upon which to base a new design that might just fulfil your requirements for a gift of something totally unique.  It must always be remembered that every piece is unrepeatable in the grain shown since each piece differs slightly even from the same tree, the same plank.

Many pieces are now in Norway, Denmark, South Africa, Germany, Florida, Texas and many hundreds of homes in the United Kingdom.

Padauk  (1)
This is freshly turned and the colour is really quite stunning.  This piece will eventually be gilded with Gold paste to enhance the grain and give a pleasant contrast as the piece ages.  10 inches diameter x 2 inches at the thickest point shaped like a discus. £80.00

African Padauk gilded 10 x 2 inches (2)
As suggested in previous image this is now gilded with Gold paste to enhance the grain.   Hopefully the contrast with the darkening oxidising wood surface will bring the Gold flecks to the fore.  £80,00

(Since this picture was taken the wood has darkened considerably)
