Paddington and Fitzgerald
Paddington (Left) and Fitzgerald (Right)

Paddington has been at the rescue since Dec 2003. He had calcium sludge in his bladder which had to be surgically removed and means that he is on controlling medication for the rest of his life.
His friend, Fitzgerald, doesn\'t mind reducing his chances of being adopted, as they are best of friends.

Mr. Wiggles
Mr Wiggles is not very old and has only been at the rescue since June 2005. He was rescued from deplorable conditions, he arrived here with fleas, was filthy, was malnourished and had an upper respiratory infection.
We took care of the 1st three afflictions, but the upper respiratory is persistant and is controlled but not cured by antibiotics.
He will probably have to take antibiotics on and off for the rest of his life.

Junior and Jellybean
Junior (L) and Jellybean (R)

Jelly Bean had his eye removed in November as it had ulcerated following facial paralysis, most likely caused by an inner ear infection.

Junior and Jellybean have not been here long, but poor Jellybean was severely neglected in his previous home. He not only suffers from impaction and has a horrible case of mites and had bitten his back raw but also has the worst case of bumblefoot seen here to date.
The treatment for bumblefoot, is often unsuccessful but requires daily foot bathing, bandaging, pain meds and antibiotics for an extensive period of time.

Faith + Charity
Faith (L) and Charity (R)

Faith has had her spay but was also found to have a large mass, we are awaiting results from  the lab. (results were benign)

Charity and Faith are mum and daughter, Charity was bred to another dalmation piggy (by her previous owner, an 11 year old boy)and had 4 babies. Two of the babies were lethal whites and 2 black selfs, 1 baby (Bryony) has a hole in her soft palette which causes food to come out of her nose. Charity also has issues with swallowing.

Luke and Lewis
Luke and Lewis are brothers who were born at the rescue on July 5, 2003

They had been adopted but due to a family illness had to stay with us for a while. Their family decided it would be best to put them back up for adoption.

The 2 boys are located in our kitchen and are enjoying being the \'dustbins\' for any surplus veggies aswell as anything else that accidently lands in their cage.

They reside in a lovely 2 x 4 coroplast cage and are spoilt with recycled paper bedding and a log cabin.

Evita and Mozart 3
Evita and Mozart are considered seniors having been born in 2003.

This couple was given up as Evita had some hairloss. The hairloss looked indicative of a poor diet.

Both piggies are well and as you can see, hairy

Shelby
Shelby must be one of the most shocking cases of wilful neglect we have seen.

This poor little girl was not only malnourished when turned into animal control in May 2007, she had the most severe fungal and mites infestation we have encountered. The scurf (infected and dead skin) was so thick up to 1/2 inch, that it had to be surgically removed. Additionally both front feet have severe bumblefoot infections and she suffers from weakened muscles.

Her head and neck were left raw, but without this procedure she would have died as the skin underneath was infected and dying.

Shelby had intensive treatment with post op creams, antibiotics, anti-fungals, pain killers administered by her wonderful foster mum, she was comforted through seizures brought on by pain.

Today Shelby is still having treatments, she is a thousand times improved but still requires skin care and foot soakings.

Clive and Claude
Claude and Clive must be brothers as they have the same condition, they are both missing their bottom front teeth.

These 2 were also turned into animal control, most likely because Clive had an enormous tumor on his right back leg. the tumor was successfully removed and was benign.

The boys need their food chopped up and receive regular tooth trimmings by the vet dentist, without which both their top front teeth would over grow and also the back molars

Gwyneth
Gwyneth was born around August 2002, she lived with garfield who died from gastric torsion in 2006.
