The backpackers get ready to hit the road.
Our goodbye fan club!
Heading down into the lava bed. Hey, this is fun!

One of the many delicious fruit shakes.
As we were hiking to the town of San Jose, we took a photo of La Casa del Mundo in all its glory.
Women dominate the market scene and from our observation appeared to be assertive business owners. We were told later that the women fill many roles while their hubbys are out in the fields or working far from home.
Waiting a few hours for the bus to actually leave is another challenge.
But we trusted in God.
Awww!!!
Of course, we couldn\'t bring our cameras into the pools, but it was very fun to swim and dive.
So we tried to stay far away from the edge.
single, single, together:)

Here we are watching the storm, one of our favorite activities.
But in the end we were wet but happy.

This is my favorite photo. We are looking out over a rubber plantation.
Me under the mosquito netting.
We\'ve had such a fun trip and we\'ll miss being on the road, but we are also happy to come home!
Last year the lupine didn\'t grow at all, so what a delightful surprise. Gardens are such teachers about wating patiently, sometimes it takes two years to blossom.
Suzanne takes a photo of us before we leave.
We are excited!

At the beach!
Steve is demonstrating how very hot and steamy it is in New York. We were so happy to have our very own apartment for two days thanks to AJ and Jules.
View three--Picasso is getting really weird.
Steve is so proud of Lily and I am too. She\'s amazing!!!!!!
Bard swag! We went on a tour of Bard and we were really impressed with the school and the opportunities available for Lily. Plus, Leon, the President, rocks. After Bard, Steve felt the empty nest syndrome BIG TIME, but it was good to know she was in a great place.
Need I say more. Liz filled us in on the tales of Cape Cod and they do rival Little Compton.
So while we were at it, I patched up my dress. Don\'t we look swell!!!
smooching in the kitchen!!!
Out to dinner under the threat of a rare Rochester tornado watch.
My dad and I!!!!!

My sweet boy!!!!!!
Steve, MJR and Orca--the land of Colorado was so beautiful. We were so happy to end the vacation on a natural note.
We didn\'t want to leave.
Wow--what a fun, intense, interesting and packed vacation. We\'ve grown even closer and learned new, exciting things about each other and fallen even more in love. We are sad to go, but also ready to build a home together.

We are really from outer space!
Me playing in the snow by the Hood River and obviously very happy to be outside.
We wanted to wear hats for New Years, but couldn\'t find them in any store. Good thing we had a kindergarten teacher with us!
Steve and I at the Hood River where dry Eastern Washington meets rainy Western WA, making for some great windsurfing.
Watching Steve and Tama fall in puppy love has been joyous.
Tama leaning out a car window.
Steve on the way to the Chocolate and Velvet party. Oh la la.
Tama and I snowshoing in one of my favorite places--Scottish Lakes.
I surprised Steve and his class on his 42nd birthday with a cake. The kids in his class are so sweet.
Later that night, we went to see Susannah in The Oregon Trail play. This is Steve and his daughter Lily acting slightly silly.
Steve and his amazing girls.
I am displaying the size of our hovel in Nelson, BC--Canada.
